SCience With Energy!!!!!!!!!

With Me Luke
(Again)

This week in science we used google earth. But I won't be talking about it. I built a small contraption, and was testing what powered it best. So far a Solar Wind Mix powers it best.

GO GREEN!!!!!!!!!!!

What Animals Think

With Luke.
Hi. It's luke, and let's go interview toby.

I think we should all use more solar power. Then, we could all mount them onto our house and sell extra to the grid. That way we could cut down on fossal fuel. If you were to get an electric car, then it would be a true green machine!!!

The energy used in my household is solar or natrual gas. Solar is renewable while gas is NOT.sad So GO GREEN!

Session 3

Session three wasn't the best. We did not get the u-turn but if we did a I know who I would use it on. Just like in the amazing race you use it on the team that is the most threat! Like those to girls that were dating and the two models that were dating. Oh yea carol and brandy were the girls and I forget the other peoples names.  Well the dating models used it on carol and brandy and they lost the amazing race and now its down to the final 5? teams. Well still we had a good week and hope to make it a lot better.

This Week in Science

Hey Chipmunk fans! How was your spring break? Hope it was great! But its over now so get up go to bed early and do homework! SOOOOOOO, this week in science in session one One ONe ONE! We did a fun game called Jenga! To see how the ecosystem would be if everything was being taken away! It was awesome! We all enjoyed it a lot and learned a lot too! In session two Two TWo TWO! We learned about . . . ? Oh yea we learned about the trouble with Invasive species! We learned about zebra mussels (Evil Zebra Mussels!) We also learned about bassalt water and how many non-native  species there are in it. We learned how they collect water in ships and then dump it into a new unknown area. Mrs. Baumgardner had used an example where people get water from one spot then drop it off in another. In session three Three THree THRee THREe THREE!  We are taking a science test and then having another team challenge! Well I hope we all had a fantastic spring break! (Including you Mrs. B!) I also wanted to say that we had a great week and I want to remind everyone to log out of their account on the computer and go onto Lms! Thanks and Join us next week! TYC! TYC! AND TYC!

The Food Web!

Today in class (session 1), we got to watch a Bill Nye video, and if you have not seen a Bill Nye video, they are educational, yet hilarious. In the video we learned all about the food web. We learned that every living thing starts with plants. If you look at any food, you can trace it back to plants. Then after that, the video just got weird.

Hi everyone, you know the owls in Chula Vista. Well, it has 4 babies. My brother, Mark, is here with the topic.

Hi, it's Mark here with more on the owls. The mom has 4 babies, Max, Spencer, and I can't remember the other two.

Well thanks. Now... some guy built a nesting box, a webcam, and now these owls are famous. It seems that they're own the the news more than the reporters. Well anyway, Adyos!!

Breaking News at the Torrey Pines Hike!

Hey this is Julia and I have very sad news. Last weekend on Saturday two eighteen year olds. Where swimming in the ocean at the hike. The girlfriend swam out and was being sucked out. The boyfriend swam out and grabbed her. Then a huge wave came over them and the boyfriend went under and never came up. The girlfriend was fine. My mom hiked torrey pines on monday and saw all these people gathered. She asked what happened. A person we all know Pete, from the community center was the person my mom asked. She couldn't believe what she heard. I am just wondering why would some guy give his surf board to his girlfriend if he didn't know how to swim! They still have not found his body, and gave up the search a couple of days ago. It is a very sad story and this is Julia Domann saying be careful at the beach. Thank you

Barn owl found in San Marcos, CA

Have you heard the news that a man in San Marcos, CA found a Barn Owl mother and father nesting new eggs. Now, if you go to the sight that i will list at the bottom of the page, you can watch the owl family night and day, inside the owl box. The way that all of this works is that the "Barn Owl Box" has a camera installed inside the box so that we can watch the owls all day long. Two owlets have been born and the mother "Molly" has been sitting on the eggs night and day.

Creatures 600 ft Under the Ice!

Hi this is Julia with more exciting news:  Scientists find live creatures like shrimp and jellyfish underneath a thick sheet of ice! Scientists thought nothing could live 600 ft below ice with no sunlight. The only thing they thought that could live there were microbes. But they were WRONG! They lowered a video camera under the ice and found live creatures swimming around. The shrimp they found was the same type of shrimp you could find on your very own dinner plate! They think that the video taken will make scientists think differently about life in harsh enviorments. Scientists are asking many questions like were they trapped there? And the anwser is no. A scientists drilled a hole through the ice and saw water so they could swim anywhere they wanted to. They also asked why would they go there? How could there be a food source down there?!?!? Scientists are still trying to solve these mysterious questions. I am really excited to find put about how animals can live in these harsh places. Thanks for reading our blog!

                                                     Julia D. :)

This week in Science!

This week in science we had our first team challange! Our team came in second and got eight points! I was really impressed how well we worked together as a team and how we all did our fair share. I hope everyone enjoyed this week in science and cant wait for another great week!!! Thanks for reading our blog and please if you have anything to say, say it! Thanks!!! :)

                                                TYC,
                                             Julia D. :)

Like Julia said, we had our first team challenge. some parts were challenging, and some parts were fairly easy. But luckily we came together, and worked as a team to get second place, and bring in eight points for our mileage charts.  Also, we got to choose our name for our team. we went through many names, until we came to the conclusion that we would be The Yellow Chipmunks! Thanks for reading.
